Frantic travellers have shelled out thousands of dollars to secure flights home after a massive tech outage brought airlines to a halt. Despite the worldwide outage, some US tourists managed to secure a ride home through one bizarrely unaffected airport. Some travelers revealed that they paid almost $6,800 in order to secure a flight from Scotland's Edinburgh airport. The global outage brought many traveler's plans to a screeching halt. Staffers at Edinburgh revealed that those traveling should expect security waits of “around one hour.“ Many flights have been delayed while others have been completely canceled, leaving travellers in limbo.
