Smith’s unique brand of stride piano relied on classical technique merged with the heavily accented New York Style(Harlem) Stride piano-originated by the elder statesman, Eubie Blake. This “FingerBuster“ is not to be confused with JellyRoll Morton’s “Fingerwrecker,“ which Jim Hession performs also on could easily be considered a “fingerbreaker“!.
