Polish farmers block another checkpoint on the border with Ukraine The Ukrainian Customs Service has reported that protesting Poles have blocked the Medika-Szehyni checkpoint on the border with Ukraine. According to preliminary information, the blockade will last 48 hours with a possible extension. At the moment there are about 150 trucks at the entrance to Ukraine. They will pass one heavy truck per hour, and cars weighing more than 3.5 tons will not be released at all. The restrictions do not apply to cars and buses. This is not the first time Polish farmers have prevented military equipment and ammunition for the Ukrainian armed forces from entering Ukraine. The protests were also directed against the government’s policy of ruining the local economy, as low prices for imports of Ukrainian products have a “devastating effect“ on local businesses.
