The chorus refers to the Russian ship Aurora, an imperial cruiser that mutinied in 1917. It shot a blank shot from its harbor to signal to the revolutionaries to storm the Winter Palace. The phrase “We're here for good“ means both “we are here to do good“ and “we are here forever“, it attempts to carry the original meaning of the French phrase “C'est pour de bon.“ Gavroche was a poor street child who joined the revolution in Les Misérables. I believe “Grand Soir“ is a French communist term referring to the final struggle, but I could be wrong. “Quand fera-t-il jour, camarade?“ (When will it be day, comrade?) is a French communist song. It was first performed in 1967 by Mireille Mathieu, one year before the May 68 protests in France. This rendition was released as part of her 2015 live album Olympia, hence the clapping.
