Contemporary Art Museum; the HD streaming webcam mounted on the edge of its cliff offers breathtaking panoramic views over the golden beach, Estreito da Calheta, the Marina, and the Municipality of Calheta, on the southern coast of the Portuguese island of Madeira. The MUDAS Art Centre is a masterpiece project designed by renowned Madeiran award-winning architect Paulo David, who has received several international prizes. Calheta beach is a tranquil tourist hotspot with two man-made golden sandy beaches, excellent accommodation, restaurants and shops. The working Sugar Cane factory “Engenho da Calheta” and museum are located in the village and are an interesting place to visit, especially during the sugar cane harvest in April and May.
