I am very proud to present this full stream of the debut album from Adaga - a mysterious shadowy figure, emerging from an undeclared source, bearing a sound of morose desolation, nagging poignancy and wistful melancholy. To my ears, this has a distinctively Portuguese character; borne from a place of rural and ritual hypnotic harshness that births bands such as Vetala, Voëmmr, Degredo, Candelabrum, and of course, Black Cilice. To these sounds, Adaga darkens the mood further, with clouds of despondent sulphuric vapours. Buried within the layers febrile distortion run clear melodies; plumes of silvery apparitions, sleight in form with an insomnolent presence, haunting the fog with an unsettling pall creating that uniquely black metal experience of hagridden intoxication. The album is released through Portuguese label Altare Production in 12” vinyl format; and will be available to order from the label soon, or through various international distros.
