The main idea of the work is the spiritual victory of a person who has realised that he is an inseparable part of reality, a drop amongst mankind.“ - Review by Pərviz Quliyev Qara Qarayev (1918 ‒ 1982) was one of the most famous and significant Soviet Azerbaijani composers. Enrolling in the state conservatory at age eight, Qarayev eventually moved to the Moscow State Conservatory in 1938, where he met and became good friends with the noted Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich. He wrote around 110 works, such as ballet, opera, orchestral and chamber pieces.
