Peripeteia - Lilijana Maticevska Op. 9 No. 1 Lilijana Maticevska studied guitar with Dan McKay throughout secondary school and later at the MCM. Lilijana wrote this piece for him in 2018 for performance in the Melbourne Guitar Festival's 'Australian Composers Hour' recital, consisting of new and recent Australian works for solo guitar. Lilijana writes - 'the great thing about composing for a musician I’ve known for years, seen practising, noodling around, talked about music with and watched in concert many many times over, is that I already had a great idea of what suits his musical personality and what sounds great on his instrument the way he plays it. My job as a composer, after all, is to provide music for musicians that can really allow them to perform their best in concert or in recording. And I really hope to have done that here as well!
