Roman travels to Thailand to defend his super flyweight title against the older brother of the greatest Thai fighter of all time, Samart Payakaroon. Kongtoranee was, like his brother a great Nak Muay. Less inherently gifted he was nonetheless an extremely durable, well rounded and smart operator who could pick his moments well and throw single shots as well as combinations. Like his brother (and many Thai's!) he fought top class opposition very early in his international boxing career, his second fight against a former World champion, Payao Poontarat, who had given super fly great Jiro Watanabe big problems twice. Samart faced ex light fly champ' Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh in his debut! After the bout with Roman, Payakaroon went on the backfoot against the much bigger Khaosai Galaxy, going the distance and dropping the much more lauded Thai fighter. Kongtoranee shows the other side to his rounded and efficient game here, turning aggressor against the brilliant boxer from Mexic
