Dozens of people have been injured in northern Kosovo, where police and NATO-led peacekeepers have clashed with ethnic Serbs - the majority in the country's north. Serbs have been trying to block ethnic Albanian officials from entering municipal buildings. The officials were appointed after last month’s local elections, which were boycotted by Serbs and had a turnout of less than 3.5 percent. Demonstrations desceneded into chaos on Monday, with US condemning protesters violence and international calls for de-escalation. NATO says around 25 peacekeepers have been wounded in unprovoked attacks. The unrest is focused around several towns in the north, including Zveçan. Tensions have been rising since the mayors took office last week. We talk about the deeply rooted conflict between ethnic Serbs and Kosovo Albanians with Florian Bieber, Professor of Southeast European History and Politics at the University of Graz. #kosovo #albania #serbia Subscribe: For more news go to: Follow DW on social media: ►Facebook: ►Twitter: ►Instagram: ►Twitch: Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie:
