Survivors' testimonies. As the Russian army continues to advance in Donetsk People's Republic, residents of the recently liberated Dzerzhinsk (aka Toretsk), Artemovo, and Novgorodskoe share their experiences during the last days under the Ukrainian occupation. Testimonies from the three survivors were filmed at the temporary accommodation centers. According to one survivor's account, before retreating from Artemovo, Ukrainian soldiers were going house to house dropping grenades into the cellars where people were hiding. They acted like the Germans during World War 2: burning everything, making sure nothing was left behind. The man and his daughter were injured during an artillery strike. Russian soldiers helped him and his family to safety, administered first aid, and provided food and water. Another resident said the Ukrainians bombed his house, injuring him.
