A vehicle carrying six tourists and a guide was charged by a reportedly ‘aggressive’ bull elephant on Saturday, leading to the death of an elderly woman. The incident occurred at Kafue National Park in Zambia, when the vehicle was unable to maneuver out of the elephant’s path. ‘Our guides are all extremely well trained and experienced, but sadly in this instance the terrain and vegetation was such that the guide’s route became blocked and he could not move the vehicle out of harm’s way quickly enough,’ explained the tour company, adding that the incident was ‘unexpected.’ Five people were hurt in the attack, with 79-year-old Gail Mattson being flown to a hospital in South Africa but later dying of her injuries. An investigation has now been launched into the incident, with the tour company said to be fully cooperating with local authorities. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
