Hello! Welcome back to my channel. Today I will be sharing 3 recipes to make Korean Rice Balls (Jumeokbap: 주먹밥). Jumeokbap translates to “fist rice“ because it is usually hand made and shaped. I will be sharing a Tuna Mayo, Regular, and Cheese Kimchi versions of the rice balls! These are really easy to make and very customizable. I like to add a scrambled egg to mine sometimes. Ingredients for all: White Rice Sesame Oil: Salt Pack of Roasted Seaweed: 2 cups of white rice will make around 6-7 medium sized rice balls Tuna Mayo Rice Ball Ingredients/Recipe: Can of Tuna (drained) Kewpie Mayo: Pepper Chopped Jalapeno Mix all of these together to taste to make the tuna mayo mixture. 1. In a bowl, mix white rice, 1 tbs sesame oil, and salt. Crumble seaweed into a plastic bag 2. Grab a handful of rice and flatten out on your palm 3. Add in a spoon of tuna mixture and fold the rice over it, covering it. 4. Shape into a ball then put into plastic bag of seaweed, covering the ball with seaweed. Regular Rice Ball Ingredients/Recipe: White Rice, Furikake Seasoning, Pinch of Salt, Sesame Oil, Pack of Roasted Seaweed Mix all of these in a bowl and shape into a ball using your hands. Very simple right? Cheese Kimchi Rice Ball Ingredients/Recipe: Beef (optional), Any Melty Cheese, 1/2 Cup of Chopped Kimchi, Kimchi Juice 1. On a pan heated in medium low, add sesame oil and fry kimchi for a few minutes. Then add in beef, salt & pepper, and a tablespoon of kimchi juice. 2. After beef is cooked, add mixture into a bowl of white rice. Add a drizzle of sesame oil, salt&pepper to taste, 1 tbs kimchi juice, and hand mix 3. Grab a handful of rice and flatten out on your palm 4. Add desired cheese into center and fold the rice over it, covering it. 5. Shape into a ball and microwave for 30 seconds to melt the cheese. 6. Put into plastic bag of seaweed, covering the ball with seaweed. Tips: Wear gloves and slightly oil them with sesame oil to avoid sticking. If you do not have gloves, slightly oil your hands! Don't have a small plastic bag or ziplock? Just crumble seaweed onto a plate and roll the rice balls around. Add a scrambled egg into the regular rice ball recipe for more deliciousness.
