In Iceland, lava is now flowing over an area with numerous unexploded bombs. As a result, there is the potential for large explosions to occur upon contact with unexploded ordnance. As this is occurring, a true spatter cone has not yet formed, meaning that we might still be in the early stages of a long haul eruption. This video discusses what has occurred in Iceland during the last 24 hours and speculates what might happen next.
