Vakhtang Kikabidze died in Georgia at the age of 85. In Tbilisi, in the old Avlabari district, a monument to the heroes of the cult film Mimino (Falcon) was erected. The author of the monument is the famous sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. The monument consists of bronze figures of the legendary heroes of the film Mimino - pilot Valiko Mizandari (whose role was played in the film by Vakhtang Kikabidze), Frunzik Mkrtchyan, Yevgeny Leonov and the director of the film - Georgy Danelia. In Tbilisi, on January 17 and 18, civil ponihidas are held in the Kashveti church, and farewell to Buba will take place on January 19 in the large concert hall of Tbilisi. He will be buried at the Veriysky cemetery in Tbilisi next to his family members. An outstanding Soviet and Georgian actor, pop singer, screenwriter, film director, songwriter Vakhtang Kikabidze was a member of the Dielo and Rero ensembles.
