Superhero Origins of Deadpool Subscribe Born Wade Wilson, Deadpool’s parents both died by the time he reached his teens. Becoming a delinquent who was ejected from the military for bad behavior, Wilson was soon diagnosed with cancer. As part of a superhuman enhancement project that would have him receive natural healing abilities like Wolverine of the X-Men, his cancer was sent into overdrive, leaving him heavily scarred and with neurological damage. After he was sent to a facility for rejects of the experiment, his abilities activated and he escaped. He went on to become a mercenary known for using a multitude of weapons, including his mouth.
