Philip Samartzis is a sound artist based in Melbourne, Australia. He travelled to Antarctica, as a recipient of the Australian Antarctic Arts Fellowship, to explore the impacts of extreme environmental conditions on people and the way they adapt to those conditions. This video follows Philip in the field as he uses specialised microphones to record the soundscapes of the Antarctic environment near Davis Research Station in East Antarctica.
