I'd like to introduce you to Gunner. Inspired by a well-known military vehicle, Gunner was created for BeamNG. There are two versions of Gunner: the military version known as Gunner Patriot and the civilian variant named Gunner Claymore. The development of Gunner has taken quite some time, but it's not yet complete. Both Patriot and Claymore consist of numerous modular and unique parts. There are enough part models ready to produce standard versions. Many of these have their Jbeam files and textures completed. However, some have missing or need-to-be-fixed parts. Most of the Patriot models are now usable. For the Claymore models, there are currently some deficiencies and areas that need to be revised. After solving these issues, my plan is to make most of the standard factory Claymore models available for use, following the Patriot models. Afterward, I will focus on creating canopies and a variety of accessories for the soft-top models. As you can imagine, we'll need a wide range of accessories. Most of these have been modeled, but they lack textures and Jbeam files. My vision for Gunner includes creating a broad range of customization options, so that everyone can create their own Gunner versions. Additionally, there will be many colorable skins available. I eagerly await your suggestions regarding skins and accessories. After releasing the near-final version, which includes many customized models, we'll work together to decide on the versions to develop further (I have helmettop in mind initially). Of course, we also need to add many off-road wheel and tire models that can be used with other vehicles. For now, I don't plan to include armored or weapon platform-carrying versions in the program. If we collectively decide that these models are necessary, we can add them to the end of the list. In the initial versions, there will be factory N/A Diesel, N/A Diesel, Turbo Diesel, High Power Turbo Diesel, and Petrol engines. I also plan to add modified engines later on. In addition, there will be 1-2-3“ body lifts and 1-2-3“ suspension lifts (the body lift is almost ready, but the suspension lift will take more time). I'm planning to add the CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System) soon, and there will be some hidden features as well. Those interested can fulfill their nostalgia for the original model with different grille or headlight options. The model I currently have is well ahead of the demo model I shared, but there are still several parts that need to be revised. Consequently, I want to complete the tasks step by step. The demo model includes the simplest Patriot model, a 2-seat open-top pickup. This model allows you to open the hood, tailgate, and front windshield. When completed, all models will have these opening features. Moreover, all indicators and lights are fully functional. All the modeling for the Gunner project was done in SketchUp, while the texturing was done in Blender. SketchUp provided an efficient working environment for a modular design like this vehicle. I modeled all the parts myself and didn't use any pre-made models. My goal is to achieve a realistic driving experience, and all my work is aimed in that direction. These tasks really take a lot of time. Sometimes you can spend an entire day working on the same part and still not finish. Other times, the models might not look right or pleasing. It might be necessary to repeatedly remodel until you find the right look. Learning to create Jbeam files can also be quite exhausting. Working on Gunner while managing a full-time real-life job is incredibly draining. That's why Gunner Patriot and Claymore series will become paid models once they're completed. However, friends who support through Patreon will have access to these early releases and the final product, with new releases every 2-4 weeks.
