#JaredDines Drum Play-Through 5 of 5: “INSIDIOUS MAJESTY“! This is the 5th & final video I'll be posting from the Jared Dines session I did awhile back. To those of you that missed any of the others (or are unaware), Jared hired me to record drums for five of the tracks from his latest full-length release, entitled 'THE GREY'. The album has been out for awhile now, & is available for purchase / streaming (links below!) - Spotify: AppleMusic: Bandcamp: A bit more information on the album (& this video!): I didn't perform on the entire album - as mentioned, I only recorded the 5 that were written (or co-written, I think?) by Aaron Smith. Aaron is a great audio engineer & guitarist - you may recognize his name from other video descriptions, as he's mixed some stuff for me here & there over the years. He also used to have a band called 7Horns7Eyes (still technically a band, I guess. But they haven't put out any new music in a hot minute). At ANY rate, *someday*, whenever he finally gets around to doing another 7Horns album, we've talked about my drumming on it (as I've continually expressed interest in doing so over the years, LOL). I love what Aaron writes - it's SUPER heavy, atmospheric, & just all-around SICK! So anyway - Aaron was working on this stuff with Jared, & at some point suggested having me play on the songs he wrote. Jared was into the idea, & BOOM: The rest is history! The 5 I played on are... 1) Dreams That Will Never Be 2) Insidious Majesty 3) Speed Run (this song!) 4) Piercing The Darkness 5) Blood Letter Please note that the drum videos are NOT the same takes as the album takes / “official“ recorded audio. By the time I got home from the last tour I did, I had limited time to get the tracking done for these songs. So I opted to not do video for the actual tracking; instead, I just learned the songs well enough to punch my way through. THEN, a couple weeks later, after continuing to rehearse them / get them tighter (or, get them to where I could do them in one full take. Lol!), I re-recorded all of them, & filmed video for it (which is what all these playthroughs are!). Hopefully that all makes sense. Probably doesn't matter to most people, but for any super-nerds out there, I figured I'd mention it! Some other credits: Obviously, shoutout to Aaron Smith (!), who wrote the songs (as well as the initial drum ideas - he honestly writes SICK drum parts. I just changed things a bit & added embellishments). Aaron also mixed the album version(s) of the songs! Follow Aaron on Insta using the link below! This DRUM VIDEO version of the song(s) was mixed by GOOD BUDDY / super-sick-guy-&-audio-engineer, Declan White (you RULE DOODE!)!!!
