A l’origine, le groupe se focalise sur des compositions et un univers basé sur la Provence, sa langue et ses traditions, mais des tensions émergèrent entre Lord Tarascoun et Maniac Matagoun, qui avaient de grosses divergences artistiques liées à Loupobuli. En 1996 ils enregistrèrent alors la première démo Provencum Maleficarum. A la base prévu pour être un concept album, l’enregistrent est interrompue au bout de deux chanson (dont une, Coupo Santo, à moitié mixée) suites a un conflit entre Maniac Matagoun et Lord Tarascoun, Maniac voulait diriger Loupobuli vers la scène sulfureuse NSBM, tandis que Lord Tarascoun tenait à conserver sa création intègre et étrangère à toute incursion politique. Quelques jours après cet incident, une nouvelle dispute éclatât entre Maniac Matagoun et Lord Tarascoun, ce dernier fût mortellement poignardé par Maniac Matagoun, qui fût incarcéré peu de temps après. En 2015, les membres restant Dead Kabanoun et Butcher Guarigoun découvrent le reste des compositions de Lord Tarascoun et décidèrent d’exhumer leurs archives et ainsi donner vie au concept album « Provencum Maleficarum ». Loupobuli pratique un black metal extrême, violent et sans concession, inspiré par les plus grands piliers de cette scène, tel que Mayhem, Darkthrone et Immortal. Leur nom vient d’un pain noir, bouillit, appelé aussi “po buli“, c’est un pain noir fabriqué à partir de farine de seigle et d'eau bouillie, dont la légende raconte que la pâte n'est salée qu'avec la sueur de ceux qui la prépare... (ENG) : Loupobuli was founded in 1993 by Lord Tarascoun, joined by guitarist Dead Kabanoun, bassist Butcher Guarigoun and later joined by Maniac Matigoun in 95. Loupobuli practices an extreme black metal, violent and uncompromising, inspired by the biggest pillars of this scene, such as Mayhem, Darkthrone and Immortal.
