Bob Bouber - Voor Niets TopPop

Bob Bouber, (real name: Boris Blom, Amsterdam, 6 september 1935), is a Dutch singer, who later became a well known producer and impresario. In 1962 he started one of Hollands first beatbands ’ZZ en de Maskers’. They had several chart hits. Also he wrote the hit ’Ik Heb Geen Zin Om Op Te Staan’ for ’Het’ an infoumous Amsterdam beatgroup of the sixties. His only solo-hit in the Dutch Top 40 was ’Voor Niets’, that reached #3 in the Top 40 in 1976. It was the Dutch cover version of the no. 1 hit ’No Charge’, a country music song, written by songwriter Harlan Howard. It was made famous in North America by country singer Melba Montgomery, whose 1974 version was a #1 country hit in both the US and Canada, as well as making #39 on the US pop charts.
