Europe region: Rough-legged Buzzard (Buteo lagopus) is a predatory bird that breeds in Scandinavian tundra. In winter it visits parts of western and Central Europe. This species also breeds in high altitude regions of Asia and North America, where it is called Rough-legged Hawk. This buzzard hunts during the day by sitting quietly on a well positioned perch o scan for prey. It’s main foods are small rodents and occasionally small birds. The calls of Rough-legged Buzzards are piercing, squealing sounds similar to other hawks. Bird Songs From Around The World: I do not own the video clips or photos used.
