A brief encounter with a cougar near sunset at Jack London State Park. It quickly ran away and was likely more afraid of me that I was of it. The video was meant as a test as I had just purchased the chest mount and was working out its kinks when I spotted the cougar Cougars go by many names such as Puma or Mountain Lion. They are found all throughout the Americas but the sub-species found in North America (Puma concolor couguar) is mostly found only in Western Canada and the United States (as well as a population in south Florida). They are the largest cat in the US but rarely attack humans as their main source are Ungulates (hooved animals such as deer). They are cousins of the African Cheetah and can reach speeds of 50 mph
