I borrowed this Late 50's Vintage Fender Champ Lap Steel from my buddy John Carter Cash, and it's got some of the longest and smoothest sustain I've ever heard on an instrument. I'm also pretty sure it's haunted, because it's only wants to play creepy, dark, reverb-drenched swamp blues... or maybe it's just me! For such a simple design, it's really got a soul and voice that's filled with that stanky mojo! For this tune, I dropped it in my favorite swampy, bluesy tuning, Open Dm, and let the Lap Steel do some moanin'!
