This Marian Hymn is one of the four seasonal antiphons sung by the Catholic Church during Eastertide Compline, from Easter Sunday until Pentecost, as well as being sung in place of the Angelus thrice daily. This arrangement is written for acapella women's choir. Legend says that angels appeared to Pope Saint Gregory the Great singing this hymn during a procession with an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
