Dickens Fete - drive through London - dancing on lawn. 1914 - 1920s ? Festival honouring 19th century author Charles Dickens. Coach driving through London; crowded w/ men on top dressed in 1800's historical period costumes and all acting silly; actually they seem to be like the bunch of characters in Pickwick Papers. Crowds of people watch them go by. Crowd arriving in park. 3 men on stage; comedy music act w/ banjo; drums; percussion (two of the men seem to be African-American). Silly; wacky; etc. Dissolve to couples dancing in garden - stylish women dance w/ soldiers & also w/ other women. Literature; party; entertainment; recreation. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
