Visitors to the famous “Spruce Goose“, located at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, find that their museum entry fee includes basic access to a small plexiglass room inside the cargo hold of the huge aircraft. While the museum does not exactly promote it, enthusiastic and/or interested visitors can arrange with the docents and front desk to get either a VIP Tour of the airplane, or a photo in the cockpit (the VIP Tour includes the cockpit photo). The fee for the extra access is treated as a donation to the museum. The extra access is well worth the cost, but it might not always be available, so check ahead if possible. This video is what I was able to take during my own VIP Tour. Sadly, many areas were too dark to get decent video, although my eyes could see adequately.
