Spartan Sportsmen (1930)

High angle shot of a group of runners just about to start a race. We see them “get set“ and “go“ as the starting pistol is fired. The race begins. The camera follows the runners as the jump hurdles and race around the track. We see a man jumping hurdles in slow motion. A man running on an athletics track is seen in slow motion. By a camera trick he runs in reverse then backwards and forwards. Various shots of the runner going backwards and forwards as the film is stopped and started a few times. The high jump is featured - through film reversal we see the sportsman jump over, then back again. The high jump is seen in slow motion.
