On December 14, 2019, Terence “Bud“ Crawford defended his WBO welterweight title against Egidijus “Mean Machine“ Kavaliauskas at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Kavaliauskas came out strong, surprising many by catching Crawford with clean shots in the early rounds, even wobbling him in the third round. However, Crawford, known for his adaptability, turned the fight around with his aggressive switch-hitting style. By the seventh round, Crawford dropped Kavaliauskas for the first time. In the ninth round, he dropped him again and then finished the fight with a third knockdown, securing a TKO victory. Crawford’s power and resilience reaffirmed his dominance in the welterweight division.
