It was at 12 that Pat Martino began to play the guitar, and would be one of its virtuosos before he was even 18! Pillar of psychedelic jazz, this fan of John Coltrane suffered a stroke in 1980 which caused him to lose his memory. It is by listening to his records that he will relearn all his technique. Today, he is probably better than before this event! Pat Martino once again proves to us on the New Morning stage that he is one of the finest guitar technicians, and that he knows like no other how to balance lyricism, feeling and extraordinary dexterity. He is accompanied by Pat Bianchi (hammond organ) and Carmen Intorre Jr. (drums).
