A fusion of tribal styles of the Daraa River Valley in south eastern Morocco. Performance 7 july 2019 ‘Daraa’ refers to the Daraa River Valley running down into the Sahara-desert. This valley is renowned for its gorgeous oases spotted along the river, its ancient Kasbahs hidden within them and the diversity of tribes, traditions and languages. Each of the members of Daraa Tribes hails from a different tribe settled in the oasis town of Tagounite, bringing with them a diverse set of music styles. Their influences include Ali Farka Touré and Tinariwen of Mali as well as the musicians in their families and respective tribes who have passed down their musical heritage for centuries. Their debut album Igharman (‘Villages’) was released in November 2017.
