More and more slaughterhouses in the Western world are switching from electric stunning of pigs to CO2 gas. We have concerns about the use of this type of gas because it burns the membrane tissue and creates panic among the animals as they feel breathless. It is time to develope a brand new method that is much more humane. In this video one can view the pigs in CO2 via the Butina paternoster system and the dip-lift system. Filmed in Europe in 2013.
