Furthermore, they are endowed with a characteristic that is authentic art, universality, for which not only are they understood and admired by other cultures as well, but they impose themselves universally as models from which musical art must be inspired and compared if wants to produce other masterpieces. The musical chapel of the Basilica of St. Mark in Milan offers an anthology of this treasure, which ranges from the pure polyphonies of the fifteenth century to those of absolute perfection of the sixteenth century, to the turgid ones of the nineteenth century, to those of the twentieth century interpreting a our tormented spirit and yet avid for interior simplicity. The musical chapel of the Basilica of St. Mark, directed by Giovanni Vianini, has accomplished therefore a work, in addition to being a meritorious cultural activity, of intense technical work which results several times in choral effects of great fusion and notable dramatic effects, demonstrating commendable preparation“ - Monsignor Luciano Migliavacca Subscribe to our channel “The Sacred Christian Music TV“: @TheSacredChristianMusicTV ➤ Music by: Cappella Musicale Basilica di San Marco, Giovanni Vianini and Gruppo Vocale “Pro Musica Antiqua“ From the album 'Splendori della polifonia - Mottetti e madrigali per coro a quattro voci miste' ℗ 1989 La Gloria / Rusty Records Listen this album on all digital platforms: MOTETS - SACRED POLIPHONY 00:00 Vexilla Regis Prodeunt Guillaume Dufay (1400 - 1474) Cambrai 02:48 Adoramus Te Christe Franchino Gaffurio (1451 - 1522) Lodi 06:32 O Jesu Christe Jachet van Berchem (1580) Anversa 09:19 Ave Maris Stella Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525 - 1594) Roma 11:53 Sicut Cervus Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525 - 1594) Roma 14:43 Alma Redemptoris Mater Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525 - 1594) Roma 17:08 Regina Coeli Laetare Gregor Aichinger (1556 - 1628) Ratisbona 19:34 Caligaverunt Tomàs Luis De Victoria (1548 - 1611) Avila 23:26 Exultate Deo Alessandro Scarlatti (1660 - 1725) Palermo 26:55 Intellige Clamorem Alessandro Scarlatti (1660 - 1725) Palermo 29:55 O salutaris hostia Lorenzo Perosi (1872 - 1956) Tortona 31:29 Pater Noster Igor Strawinsky (1887 - 1971) Pietroburgo 33:16 Stabat Mater Zoltan Kodaly (1882 - 1967) Budapest 36:38 Eli!
