Nebraska: Investigators now believe a train derailment on the edge of Bennet in April was caused intentionally by a teenager who then recorded it and posted it online. BNSF Railway police have referred the 17-year-old boy to the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office for prosecution for felony criminal mischief, saying the derailment caused an estimated $350,000 in damage. Three days later, investigators were able to get security footage from the Frontier Coop, which showed a car that looked like the teen’s park and the driver walk toward the switch, out of view of the camera, and run back soon after. A video from another angle showed the teen drive out of view, then return and park and quickly set up a tripod. Source: Police frequency
