This video takes a look at a 1888/05 Commission Rifle, manufactured in 1891 at the German Imperial Imperial Arsenal in Danzig. The Gewehr 88 is in essence a Mannlicher design, with some early Mauser features thrown in. These rifles were upgraded from the packet loading system to use the more modern charger/stripper clip loading used in the Mauser rifle system.
