During the 2018 Historic Minardi Day me and my friends Davide458Italia and Italiansupercarvideo had the chance to record an icon from the Formula 1 “Turbo Era“: the Ferrari 126 C4. Two of them were at the event but only one spent time on the track. Built as an evolution of the 1983 126 C3, six C4s chassis were built during the 1984 season, ranging from numbers 126-071 to 126-076. The two in this video are chassis 073 (on the right at the beginning of the video) and 074 (the one on the left). The 126 C4 was only able to score only a win during the Zolder GP and other 7 podium finishes conquering the second place in the constructors' championship. It's powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine that was able to produce around 660hp at 11,600 rpm for race use. The two cars in this video are a bit different among them. Infact the one you see in action on track could be called 126 C4 M (where with the “M“ Ferrari generally means “modificata“, Italian word for “modified“). You can see better the difference here: Basically on the M you have squared air radiator inlets, a different rear axle/suspension design (2:10, the C4 M one. 2:25 the other one) and different exhaust headers with single exit on the C4 M and a more “spaghetti-style“ on the C4 (differences are at 1:54 and 2:02). Quite for sure there are many other diversities but these are the the easiest to find. The C4 M you see here (chassis 074) was the actual car that won that only race in Belgium in the hands of Michele Alboreto who drove it during other rounds of the season. Renè Arnoux was behind the wheel of this chassis too, in Hockenheim and Zeltweg. #ferrari #ferrarif1 #f1 #formula1 #f1turbo #alboreto -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have to thank my friends and youtubers Italiansupercarvideo () and Davide458Italia () for letting me use their shots taken during the event and for the great collaboration done.
