Second demo from this mysterious project belonging to the Manidoo Gathering collective, engraving the might, feral and occult practices of the Anishinaabe people into Raw Black Metal, and other currents of the dark arts. A follow-up to last year's debut, “Daso-Biboon“, one of my favorite demos of 2021, Zesab now returns unmercifully, maniacally emerging from the impenetrable thickets with a machete in hand and wolven, maniacal eyes to thrust their wrath upon the invaders. After the ghoulish Ambient distro, which only serves as a prelude for the madness to come, haunted by the foul whispers of some darkened sorcerer, we are then ravaged and defiled by 15 minutes of anti-civilizational necrotic Raw Black Metal madness crafted through pummeling and absolutely barbaric percussion, absolutely mad and distorted vocals, like the sounds of vomiting innards due to fatal poisoning of blowgun arrows and excellent, oblique riffage, always done with very dissonant chords that definitely are inspired by the madness of Brenoritvrezorkre and Belkètre. Zesab releases true and unhinged Raw Black Metal, not some saccharine, floral melodies hidden behind a false lo-fi production, crafting absolute aural mayhem that is still created by palpable and solid riffs and excellent songwriting, often incorporating slower, terrorizing interludes, moments of central-european influenced Punk-ish madness or even some riffs which almost give out some glimpse of a melody that's never any less then haunted and bone-chilling. Something that should definitely please also fans of the real inert Raw Black Metal underground of the 00's and 10's, with acts like Unlight, Durazis, Total Genocide, Krüel Kömmando and Vetala.
