This recording was inspired by Kanye West’s visit to Tumo. He was in the music room when Tumo’s TmbaTa band was rehearsing a traditional song. He seemed to liked it a lot. The lyrics of this version remain true to the original, while the composition by our Pyramidz band is inspired by a segment of the lyrics: “let me take you to our home and win your heart with sweet words.“ Pyramidz and TmbaTa are two of Tumo’s four bands. Tumo students learn all the stages of music creation, including composition, performance, recording, mixing and mastering. They can then join a band project and begin working within the professional atmosphere of Tumo’s music studio. The music video was made by Tumo staff and students, who picked their favorite sweet words, from “home“ and “hip hop“ to “morning“ and “Swan Lake“.
