With the crypto asset manager Grayscale announcing plans to spin off a portion of its flagship Bitcoin fund, GBTC, into another new ETF. The SEC then gave the check mark on the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust and the ProShares Ethereum ETF to list and came after the good ol’ Form 19b-4 filing. On July 17, the highly talked about new regulations from South Korea were announced, and came into effect just two days later. These regulations are designed to protect users buying and storing crypto with service providers. Other major headlines of the week centered around Donald Trump: his new NFT collection, themed meme coin frenzy after an assassination attempt, revealed donations in crypto. The major Indian crypto exchange WazirX suffered a security breach resulting in a loss of nearly half their assets ($235 million) from one of its multisig wallets. At the same time, some crypto addresses affiliated with bankrupt exchange Mt. Gox recently saw 96,396 Bitcoin worth approximately $6 billion moved to three unmarked wallets.
