Canadians were up to their armpits in snow this week as blizzards blanketed parts of Nova Scotia, in the east of the country. Around five feet of snow fell on the island of Cape Breton, prompting officials to declare a state of emergency, with highways closed and residents trapped in their homes. Some locals ventured out to document the snowstorm, however. One woman, wrapped up against the cold in a hooded coat and balaclava, filmed herself leaping into the snow – shaking her head in disbelief as she plunged downwards. Another video showed a woman attempting to claw her way through a head-height wall of snow, as the blizzard continued around her. After about 30 seconds of digging, she managed to shake lose enough of the snow to expose part of her car, which had been totally buried in the snow. #canada #capebreton #novascotia Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
