From the composer: “The first performance of any of my compositions outside of school was the programming of Motet for 12 Singers by Chanticleer. This was back in 1997! And it was thanks to my old friend John Kline, who recommended I take my score to a concert that was going to be performed by the group in Miami. I took the score having NO clue who the ensemble was, but by the intermission, I was TERRIFIED to approach them with it, as they had blown me away with their artistry.
