GOOD NEWS: Donald Trump wants to SHUT DOWN the Department of Education, and Republicans are on board. During his interview with Musk, Trump said one of his first moves would be to “close up the Department of Education“ and let states handle education themselves. Rep. Thomas Massie was happy to hear Trump’s support. Massie has already introduced a bill to eliminate the department, with over 30 Republicans backing it. Massie and others believe that the money currently spent on the DOE would be better used directly in local schools instead of getting lost in federal bureaucracy. The Department of Education, created in 1979, has been criticized for doing too much while achieving too little.
