This young Gyrfalcon, one of the fastest animals in the world, is a captive bred falcon which has been trained by Teton Raptor Center's Program Director, Jason Jones, for a hack project during the summer of 2012. Hack is a type of training used in falconry and hawking where young falcons are trained to return to a location for an extended period of time after they fledge. This little guy is very inquisitive and was tracking my face as I moved it side-to-side.
