Shocking footage has emerged of police officers assaulting a customer at a Walmart store, after accusing him of stealing a $5 frozen pizza. Dayton Borisouth had bought the pizza just seconds earlier using a self-service checkout, when an officer demanded to see his receipt. When Borisouth reached into his pocket to get it, the officer pinned him against the wall before tackling him to the ground and kneeling on him. A second officer jumps in to assist (remember this is over a legitimately purchased $5 pizza) eventually kneeling on Borisouth’s neck. Arguably, that would have made it much harder for Borisouth to show his receipt. Borisouth was detained in a police car for an hour, and was only released after police determined the receipt was valid, but was issued a summons for refusing to comply. To add insult to injury, his frozen pizza had thawed out. He now plans to sue and is seeking legal advice, while the two officers involved have been disciplined, with the Kansas City Police Department releasing a statement saying they will ‘undergo additional training to ensure future compliance.’
