Check out more of Tune Parade at Sun Rai: Monday, March 25th. It's A School Night. KCRW DJ Chris Douridas had put out an APB, urging all listeners to make it out to the Bardot in Hollywood to catch his new favorite act, Sun Rai. With such credible praise buzzing around this new arrival from Australia, we just had to check him out for ourselves. For only having one hit song buzzing around the KCRW airwaves at the time, the Bardot was surprisingly packed with a wide eyed crowd undulating with excitement, in anticipation of a good time. Needless to say, their good time was wrapped, bow-tied, and hand delivered in the form of a dance party, the likes of which no Monday had ever seen! Gifted both vocally and rhythmically, contagiously energetic, and emanating that famous Aussie charm, Sun Rai looked like the love child from a fun night between Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Gotye. (MUSICALLY guys, MUSICALLY. We can't ever be sure if that night ever happened. We can only hope.) We were thrilled when Sun Rai agreed to grace our Tune Parade with his very own funkadelic Ice Cream Session! Check out our footage from a night that likely rivaled the rumored Stevie, Sting, and Gotye rendezvous! Dance on Paraders!
