A few times a year, there are special military trains that run in Minnesota. These start at Camp Ripley, and can go anywhere in the nation for training, deployment, or if equipment needs any sort of overhaul or repair. In this video, we'll see not only one, but TWO Camp Ripley trains in a single day on the BNSF Staples Sub. Both of these trains were coming back from Barstow, California and were heading to the military base for unloading. The first train was lead by a still Santa Fe painted GP60, and a EMD GP50 trailing. The second trains lead locomotive was also a former Santa Fe and Burlington Northern geep, but both now having been rebuilt and in BNSF colors. Each train had a mix of APCs, Abrams tanks, medical vehicles, and other interesting equipment one doesn't typically see. This was certainly a rare move; especially seeing two following each other!
