36a. Surprise Ruby! (Barris) – It’s Ruby’s birthday and she’s very excited. She’s convinced her friends are going to give her a surprise party. She wants to stay close to home so she’ll be ready for it, but Max keeps luring her away with his own little surprises. He finally leads her to Grandma’s house, and she thinks she’s going to miss the party, but Max says “Surprise!” as Grandma and all Ruby’s friends throw her a party. 36b. Ruby’s Birthday Party – (Barris) – Ruby’s having a great time at her party, but Max just wants “Cake!” Ruby explains that they can’t have cake until they’ve played all their party games. So Max sets out to ensure that the games are over very quickly so they can get to the “Cake!” 36c. Ruby’s Birthday Present (Granleese) – Ruby and Louise are opening Ruby’s presents after the party. Ruby is as enthralled with the wrapping paper as she is with the presents and wants to save it all.
