If you’re not familiar, Science Amps have enjoyed well-earned cult status for a while now. Designed in collaboration with Electronic Audio Experiments, this pedal is the preamp section of the Mother—loosely a take on a Hiwatt circuit—faithfully recreated with transistors in place of tubes. I had a prototype of this for a while, and from day one I’ve been in love with it. It sounds incredible, the dual-channel setup is easy and intuitive, and its design is quite clever, with separate amp/direct outputs that are voiced differently for those two contexts.
