#bengalclassicalmusicfestival Sangeetha Kalanidhi Aruna Sairam (also spelled Sayeeram) is a renowned Carnatic vocalist. Born in Mumbai, her mother was became her first guru. Later she became a disciple of Sangeeta Kalanithi T Brinda with whom she mastered rare compositions by the trinity of composers, the Saints Thyagaraja , Muthu Swami Dikshitar and Shyama Shatri. At a later stage S. Ramachandran helped her to expand the repertoire and taught her the fine nuances of nereval singing (improvising within poetic texts). Vidushi Aruna Sairam is very much sought-after for her ability to handle padam forms and to energise thillana forms and ragam-tanam-pallavi. The audience at the third edition of the Bengal Classical Music Festival held in Dhaka in 2014, was captivated by the substance and style of Vidushi Aruna Sairam’s performance.
