When the G36 was officially adopted by the Bundeswehr in 1996/1997, it came equipped with a Dual Red Dot & 3x Magnified optic stack as its standard sighting system. This was very advanced and forward leaning in 1996, perhaps too much so. In this video we test the Hensoldt G36 Dual Optic and analyze an idea that too ahead of its time, perhaps it being the actual reason that the G36 has been enveloped in controversy.
